Workout Wednesday #1

I find it necessary to vary my workouts, not only to test my body but to keep myself interested and motivated to continue exercising daily. I’m going to post a series of workouts that I find challenging and fun that I believe you all will enjoy as well! This first one is a body weight workout, so you can do it anywhere! All you need is a clear space and a wall. Its perfect for those days when making it to the gym is just not in the cards.

Body Weight Workout

Set 1:

  • 2o Squats
  • 50 jumping jacks
  • 2 minute wall sit
  • 30 jumping jacks
  • 1 minute wall sit
  • 50 toe touches

Set 2:

  • 30 burpees
  • 20 squats
  • 20 burpees
  • 30 squats
  • 1 minute wall sit

Set 3:

  • 15 mountain climbers
  • 30 squats
  • 1 minute wall sit
  • 15 mountain climbers
  • 15 fire hydrants (each side)
  • 15 donkey kicks (each side)

Abs (2 times through)

  • 1 min plank
  • 30 second side plank (both sides)

10 minutes to stretch and cool down

If you want some extra motivation, do this workout with a partner! Challenge: Shorten your rest period between sets to less than 1 minute to keep your heart rate elevated and those calories burning 🙂 I created this workout based on an Alphabet Workout I found on Pinterest.
